overview
twenty-five years in, the owners still meet the group at arrivals
andina is the newer name for rixner dmc, the buenos aires company jointly owned by esther faus, who is argentine, and franz rixner, who comes from germany. between them they bring decades in the business: esther in incentives, where she was vice president of her family's company before founding their own, and franz in congresses, international fairs and sporting events from golf to sailing. twenty-five years on, the partnership still shows in the work. local knowledge opens the doors, and the logistics hold when a large group moves at once.
that knowledge runs deep in each destination. in buenos aires it means knowing the difference between the tango show and the neighbourhood milonga, and when a group needs one or the other. in mendoza it means an oenologist in the vineyard explaining why the vines grow where they do. in the amazon it means guides who know every channel of the river. the programmes are built from the inside of a place, at a pace that lets people take it in.
clients return to the same things: the detail, the surprises built into a programme, and a team that stays present from arrival to departure. one long-standing incentive partner credits esther with securing airspace for a programme, which says something about how far the brief can stretch.
what this could look like
the stage of the teatro colón, emptied for the group, with live musicians and the acoustics the building is famous for
a tango show to open the trip, or a reserved table at a neighbourhood milonga where locals dance until four in the morning
a match played alongside argentina's world cup winners from '86 and '90
a sommelier-led tasting in an exclusive-use space, with malbec and cabernet franc poured side by side
vineyards crossed by bicycle, on horseback, or in a vintage car rally between estates
the road past puente del inca to laguna de los horcones, at the foot of aconcagua
dawn at the meeting of the waters, where the negro and the solimões run side by side for kilometres without mixing
242 steps up the musa tower, above the amazon canopy as the mist lifts
dinner in the atacama, under some of the clearest skies on the planet
a finale with torres del paine as the backdrop
