advent management

the faroe islands

events crafted in saltangará for the faroese and beyond

advent works from saltangará, a two-decade grounding in event planning that stretches back to 2002, well before the company existed in name. from there, the work has crossed the north atlantic and back: iceland, denmark, norway, scotland, england, and of course the faroe islands, wherever the event needed the team to be. advent is a member of the official visit faroe islands meeting group.
// in practice
  • local sourcing for catering, produce, seafood, or other ingredients from faroese suppliers
  • waste reduction or plastic-free practices at events, e.g. no single-use materials, reusable signage
  • carbon offsetting or emissions consideration for international programmes, given how much of their work crosses borders
  • sustainably sourced branded materials, name tags, lanyards, event merchandise, beyond just "considered," specifics on what makes it sustainable (recycled materials, local production, biodegradable options)
  • partnerships with local, faroese-owned suppliers and venues rather than international chains

// well suited for
  • small incentive groups wanting local expertise without losing the personal touch
  • team-building programmes built around the islands' excursions and outdoor activities
  • larger conferences and international congresses needing full production and staging support
  • award shows and gala evenings requiring stage design and production from a single supplier
  • panel sessions and debates for groups wanting substance alongside the setting
  • multi-country programmes where one team can carry the logistics across borders

there's very little advent won't turn its hand to. panel sessions and debates sit alongside award shows and stage-lit productions, excursions out into the islands alongside the quieter work of merchandise and branding, name tags, lanyards, the small things a delegate carries without thinking about who made them. advent's experience runs back to 2002, more than two decades inside international conferences before the company existed in name. that experience now runs from the islands and beyond. advent has carried events across iceland, denmark, norway, scotland and england.

back home in saltangará, on the eastern shore of eysturoy's skálafjørður inlet, the team runs the whole arc of an event in-house: the venue, the travel, the budget, the accommodation, the staffing, the production, right down to the branded lanyard, sourced with an eye on what it costs the place it's made in. advent is a member of the official visit faroe islands meeting group, part of the network holding the islands' events industry together.
